Where should we go for dinner? Who can we call when we need a plumber? Where can visiting friends stay, and how can a newcomer find a church?
These everyday questions helped inspire a new addition to Edenton Social Light Everyday: an online directory designed to help you find your way around our community.
I’m delighted to introduce this growing collection of local information, bringing together shopping, dining, services, churches, lodging and entertainment in one convenient place at Edentonsociallight.com
Our hope is that the directory will be useful whether you have lived here all your life, recently unpacked your moving boxes or arrived for a weekend visit. You might be looking for a particular service, planning an evening out or browsing for a shop you haven’t yet explored. Sometimes, even longtime residents need a reminder of how much is available close to home.
For me, sharing Edenton’s good news also means helping people discover the businesses, organizations and places that are part of our everyday lives. Behind a storefront is someone ready to help you find just the right gift. Behind a restaurant door is a place to gather with friends. Our churches, service providers and local attractions offer still more ways to connect with the community.
The directory is another way for Edenton Social Light to bring those connections a little closer.
It is also a work in progress—and this is where I would appreciate your help.
We may not have everyone listed yet. Please take a few minutes to explore. If your business, church or organization is missing, let us know. If you notice information that needs correcting, we welcome that help, too. Your participation will help make the directory a more useful resource for everyone.
I invite you to open the directory and look around. While you’re there, take a moment to catch up on new businesses and services about town.
We like to think of it as a treasure chest of local information. I hope you’ll find something useful—and perhaps discover something about Edenton you didn’t know was right around the corner.
