Good evening, Edenton. It’s five o’clock on Wednesday, November fourth. The cookies are ordered, the ribbons have arrived, and Louie’s got a seventy-five-vote lead. This is your Edenton Social Light Top Dog update.

Louie picked up thirty-seven votes since yesterday to reach one hundred seventy-one. Gizmo, representing Vaughan’s Jewelry, added sixteen and holds second with ninety-six. Finnegan is third with seventy-seven.

Now, if you’re pulling for Waylon and Willie, here’s a name you’ve been hearing quite a bit lately. Isabella. You know her as Izzy.

Yesterday, Waylon and Willie had fourteen votes to spare over Izzy. Tonight, the pair still have fifty-four. But Izzy picked up nine and now has forty-nine. That fourteen-vote cushion? It’s down to five.

And Izzy might want to glance over her shoulder, too. Baxter broke yesterday’s tie with Gracie and moved into sixth with thirty-six votes. That puts Baxter thirteen votes out of the prizes. All five of this week’s top dogs go home with something.

It’s close behind Baxter. Sir Jasper, Duke of Granville, has thirty-four. Koa has thirty-two. Gracie has thirty-one. Just five votes separate sixth place from ninth. Nubby rounds out the top ten with twenty-one.

Farther down the field, Layla Maye has twelve. Enzo Adachi and Maggie are even at ten apiece. Deb Good’s Mazie has eight, Summer has seven, and Runa has six. Hamish and Mya have five between them, and Little Lady Bumblebee has matched them all by herself.

Bear, Marci’s Mazie, Potato and Diesel each have four. Millie and Cricket have three. And remember Stella, who was waiting for that first vote a couple of reports ago? She’s got two now, right alongside Cody, Harley and Sadie.

Eight entries are still waiting for somebody to put them on the board. Frank Lucas, Hit Toddi, Penny and Carl. Max, Ruby, Princess Holly and Poppy. If you’ve been looking for an underdog, you’ve got your pick.

Now, about those cookies. The Top Dog of the Week takes home a first-place ribbon and a bag of custom-baked dog biscuits from Bayside Bakery and Boards. The weekly winner moves on to the monthly contest. The other dogs start the next weekly round with a fresh vote count. And when we have our twelve monthly winners, they’ll meet in the final runoff for the crown.

You can see all forty-four entries and cast your vote at Edenton Social Light dot com. Join us Thursday at five. We’ll see who’s gaining on Louie, and whether Waylon and Willie still have a step on Izzy.

This is Edenton Social Light Everyday, bringing you good news and very good dogs.
