About walking in Edenton
Edenton, founded in 1712, was North Carolina's first colonial capital and remains one of the best-preserved small towns in the South. Most stops on this tour sit within the downtown historic district, an easy walk from the waterfront on Edenton Bay. Wear comfortable shoes, bring a bottle of water in summer, and give yourself an unhurried afternoon — the porches, courtyards, and harbor views reward lingering.
