“I have a vegetable garden for the town employees. I pick the veggies and bring them to the different departments. I just planted the collard greens for the fall, and I’m getting ready to plant the cabbage and broccoli when the weather cools down a little bit. I’m the landscape supervisor. We take care of all the parks, all the right-of-ways, all the flowers in baskets and boxes, we plant trees, prune trees… We take care of anything having to do with the horticulture of Edenton. We keep it lookin’ pretty. And I have a really great crew. They keep this town maintained really well. There are a lot of areas that people just take for granted, don’t know how they get maintained. My crew does all the big stuff. And I’m behind the scenes doing the trimming and the watering. I’m out here watering 7 days a week, unless we have a fairly good rain. My wife’s a really good horticulturist too. She helps me in the garden on the weekends. Any questions I might have about a flower, I go right to her.” -Tosh Towe, Town of Edenton Landscape Supervisor
