As soon as the estimated over 1000 people filled downtown in costumed regalia on both toddlers and those towering over them you could see the town of Edenton was special. Newcomers were awestruck at the event. Edentonians, whose families were here for the first Halloween celebration and those using the monicker more freely were enamored by the joyfulness of the crowd. A community spirit filled the air nudging out the aroma’s of peanut dust and cotton, capturing the crowd. No one assumed the night could become any more special. Undoubtedly one of Edenton’s most anticipated events. Suddenly the evening took a turn as a Flash Mob, some masked, others made up and unidentifiable, broke out of the crowd and onto Broad St. There had been whispers regarding the possibility the flash mob thrillers would be congregating in the middle of Broad St. and act like their costumes suggested. Those whispers turned into reality as the Off Broadway On Broad St. raising the dance bar dancers took to the Thriller tune and mesmerized an already fantasy finding crowd.
