Paul s 70s classics, modern hits, familiar favorites and original music, brought back good vibe memories for the audience.

As the lights dimmed, Paul swaggered down the aisle singing ‘When Sunny gets Blue’, a classic jazz song of the 50's which was composed by Marvin Fisher and the lyrics were written by Jack Seagal. It was initially sung by Johnny Mathis. Familiar songs followed, ‘Carolina on My Mind’ by James Taylor, 1968 and ‘House on Pooh Corner’ written by Kenny Loggins when he as only 17 and based on the children’s book by the same name. It was originally recorded by The Nitty Gritty Dirt Band. The hits just kept coming all night long.

Paul encouraged a dozen sing-alongs and the audience was happy to participate in a number of favorites, including ‘So in Love’ by the Tymes and was release in 1963; ‘Since I fell for you’ by Buddy Johnson in 1945 and made famous by Lenny Welch in 1963.

Paul revealed a big surprise when The Boat Rockers, Legends of the Sea join Paul on stage for a set. The group was formed a few months back and includes David Dunnage on bass, Gus Mattison on lead guitar and Paul on Acoustic guitar. These three professionals and seasoned performers had the room rocking. The set included eight rocking favorites including ‘Beginnings’ with Gus on lead, by Chicago; ‘La Grange’ with Paul as lead, by ZZ Topp and ‘Tulsa Time’ with David as lead, by Eric Clapton.

The Taylor Theater was perfect for an intimate concert. The Audio and the lighting was outstanding which included changing visuals projected behind the artists.

"I would like to personally thank the Taylor team, Ryan, Belinda and Riley for being part of the music scene in Edenton by supporting local and surrounding area musicians.
